My Blog about Sara's Farm

Mom's friend Sara lives in a farmhouse because Sara lives on a farm. I went there on Memorial Day! I was pretty glad to go there because Sara has animals in her main barn: goats, chickens, roosters, hens (The hens always laid eggs.), and barn kittens! The goats lived in a pen outside the barn with a little hole in the barn wall for them to enter the barn pen. The barn pen has lots and lots of straw. The goats' names are Lola and Zipper. Zipper gave Mom a big kiss at one point! And Lola played with Sierra and Laten, Sara's daughter. The chickens were always outside the barn and by a little pond near the barn. Before we went to see the animals I heard the chickens cluck! I almost always walked on the plank over the water and saw lots of tadpoles! I saw a lot of tadpoles eating algae! The more they could eat, the more they could grow to frogs! And I always heard the roosters crow CONSTANTLY. That REALLY got on my nerves. It really set me off! Now there's a little coop in the barn where Sara keeps the hens. The hens had laid lots of eggs for their babies. When they flapped their wings to reach the floor, they gave me cool air! Sara told me she used to have a cow or more than one cow. But they pooped near a door that was replaced. Now I want to tell you about the barn kittens! There were three barn kittens, and they were very light when Laten, Sierra, Sara, Mom and I picked them up and held them. They were so CUTE! The kittens' names were Fara, Hofi, (it has a short "o" sound in it), and Cooper. They also had a mother and father. Their mother's name was Mini, and their father's name was Sampson. Sampson always went through a cat door in the window in their room. The inside of the barn had kind of a hallway for Sampson to explore. There was a BUNCH or about a BEJILLION dandelions with their seeds formed. That day, Sierra chased a goose that looked just like a girl mallard duck, only bigger, from the pond and it rushed past the seeded dandelions, and many of the seeds blew off the dandelions, floating over the place and landing in the grass. It was a fun day on Sara's farm! When we left, I was so hungry we had to go to Steak n' Shake to get my tired body UN-tired. But anyway, like I said, it was a fun day on Sara's farm!
